Bushings / Journal Bearings

Bushings/Journal bearings are simple sliding type (metal on metal) bearings. Some common types include: bushing, flanged bushing, split bushing and thrust washer.

• Simple bearing design consisting of a bushing (journal).
• Require some type of housing to hold the bushing in place.
• Require periodic lubrication, or can be maintenance free depending on sliding surfaces and application
• Different sliding surfaces: sintered bronze, babbitt, urethane, zinc-aluminum, etc.
• Typically used in low to moderate, continuous speed applications.
