The Feed Manufacturing Short Course explores, in detail, the major elements of modern feed manufacturing and examines advances in feed technology.
Course topics: Grain storage; particle size reduction and grain processing; mixing; extrusion; feed formulation; nutrition pelleting; handling ingredients and finished feeds; energy use; steam generation and quality; molds and mycotoxins; cost control; and feed plant design.
The course will also include tours of industry facilities. Possible tour sites include feed mills, equipment manufacturers, livestock and poultry facilities, ingredient suppliers and marketing facilities.
